Comments on the expansion of the iPhone 13's internal storage up to 1TB started in october last year. Today, Thursday (22/07), they gained a direction that seems to be more definitive. According to analysts at the consultancy Wedbush, just part of the future flagship line of Apple will have significant storage.

They reaffirmed that all variants of the iPhone 13 will hit the market with LiDAR, as previously reported, but that only two models will have 1 TB of internal storage, double that offered today in the top version of the iPhone 12 line. This giant storage would be reserved only for the Pro and Pro Max versions. The capacities of the other models (128 GB and 256 GB) could also be doubled, making the iPhone 13 line start with at least 256 GB of storage.

“From a specifications perspective, we have increased confidence that iPhone 13 will have a 1 terabyte storage option, which is double the current Pro’s largest storage capacity (512GB), and will also include a number of Lidar improvements across all iPhone 13 models,” the statement sent to 9to5Mac.

Sales and launch

Weidbush analysts' bet is also high regarding for sale of the iPhone 13, regardless of the storage capacity chosen by the user. According to the company, the super sales cycle will be extended until 2022 and “slightly stronger” than that of the iPhone 12 family. The expectation is that around 90 to 100 million iPhone 13s will be sold, an increase of 15% compared to the current generation.

Although the official release date of the iPhone 13 series has not been confirmed yet by Apple, Weidbush consultants have taken a wild guess based on all the information gathered from supply chain representatives. According to the consultancy, the iPhone 13 line, including the Pro and Pro Max models with 1TB storage, will hit the market in the third week of September.
