Samsung's next entry-level phone is heading towards its launch. Yesterday (22), the device received rendered images which show what its design and some features of the product could look like. Now, the Galaxy A22 5G has appeared on the performance testing platform Geekbench and, as usual, had information about its settings revealed.
Under the model number SM-A226B, the Galaxy A22 5G has been listed on Geekbench with the processor numbered ARM MT6833V/NZA. This codename is already recognized as the MediaTek Dimensity 700, the processor that should also be in the Realm 8. The SoC's performance was close to other mid-range devices, scoring 562 points in the single-core test and 1755 points in the multi-core test. For comparison, its sibling Galaxy M42 5G has a Snapdragon 750G and scored 650 and 1779 points in each test.
The Geekbench listing also revealed other details about the Galaxy A22 5G. The device is expected to run Android 11 and the tested model featured 6GB of RAM. With this amount of memory, the phone is expected to have 128GB of storage.
Speculations about the Galaxy A22 5G
That's the basic information that appeared on the test platform. Other than that, little is known about Samsung's upcoming budget phone. The product is expected to have a display with at least a 90Hz refresh rate and a 5000 mAh battery with a 15W super-fast charger.
There is also speculation about the camera setup. As seen in the rendered images, the selfie camera will have a teardrop design and may have 13 MP resolution. The rear setup, in turn, will have 3 lenses, including a main sensor with 48 MP, an ultra-wide with 8 MP and another lens with 2 MP.
As for the price, it is easy to imagine that the smartphone will be a cheap model. The website GSM Arena pointed out that it should hit the market costing US$ 200, which means approximately R$ 1092, without fees and taxes. Its release date is still unknown, but with the registration of the Galaxy A22 5G on Geekbench, it shouldn't be long before Samsung launches it.
