All about the best cell phones

One of the certification Leaked information confirms that Samsung is working on a new rugged smartphone, the XCover 5. While most of the South Korean company's products are focused on beautiful designs, the XCover line is all about durability and resistance. So don't expect a thin smartphone with a curved screen and other niceties. They are often thick, with notable edges and a rubberized finish, all to make them resistant to any everyday accidents.

That said, the last time the market saw a launch of this line was in 2019, with XCover Pro, available even in Brazil. A first leak showed us the existence of XCover 5, and now a certification for Bluetooth use brings the first proof that the South Korean company is preparing another launch of the line. The document shows two models, both named SM-G525F, one of them Dual SIM. The devices were certified with Bluetooth 5.0.

Despite having 5 in its name, Samsung's new rugged phone doesn't appear to offer 5G connectivity. The certification and also the information provided by insider Sudhanshu only point to 4G LTE connectivity. The XCover 5 should receive this name simply because it is the successor to the XCover 4s, offering a 5.3-inch screen with HD resolution, 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage, a single rear camera, and a 3000 mAh battery with support for maximum 15W charging.

This would not mean we would have a top-of-the-line product. In fact, this was never the premise of the XCover line, which is why the insider's specifications seem to make a lot of sense. Even so, Samsung has not yet commented on the device, which, given the progress of the homologation processes, may not be that far from being made official.
