All about the best cell phones

Clubhouse is also a place for subtle irony, it seems: Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, said he prefers Android smartphones – which do not yet have the audio platform – to iOS. The entire conversation, hosted by CNBC and New York Times reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin, also touched on topics such as conspiracy theories and expectations for vaccine distribution.

The statement came as the call began, with many users asking on Twitter, “What do you mean Bill Gates has an iPhone?” The CEO claimed he preferred the operating system because some cell phone companies already have Microsoft features straight out of the box. “They are more flexible when it comes to how the software connects with the operating system. So that’s why I ended up getting used to it.”

Gates said that many of his friends have iPhones, and that it's not exactly something that worries him. He also said that iOS has interesting features and that he likes to play with them from time to time, and that he has a lot of respect for Steve Jobs.

As soon as Bill Gates said he prefers Android, Clubhouse co-founder Paul Davidson said that bringing the platform to Google's operating system was his next priority. The audio social network has been wanting to make an appearance on Android for a while now, and since that didn't happen, other apps rode the hype.

Clubhouse already boasts more than ten million downloads na App Store, with Brazil occupying sixth place in the number of users. It is quite possible that this number will increase even more with the arrival of the platform for Android – which, by the way, has no scheduled release date.
