A new patent application filed by Xiaomi reveals a smartphone that follows the characteristics of the Mi Mix Alpha, announced in 2019, with two more noticeable differences. The first is a kind of pop-up system that allows the activation of three cameras and a flash. The second has to do with the display wrapping around the entire body of the Xiaomi device, unlike the previous version, where a vertical frame interrupted the screen.

The pop-up camera system is located at the top of the device. Most likely, with the cameras having the functions of photo and video regular, in addition to selfie. Next to it, still on the upper end, there is the on and off button.

The bottom of the smartphone has a speaker, a microphone, a USB-C connection and a 3,5mm headphone jack, which is missing from many Xiaomi devices from 2017 onwards. If this patent really goes ahead, the possible successor to the Mi Mix Alpha which is still unknown will bring an end to this absence.

Documentation for Xiaomi's smartphone with a full-screen display was released on December 18. There were 16 patent sketches and four color renders documented.

Many of the difficulties pointed out for the definitive launch of this version of smartphones with 360º screen takes into account commercial viability and production costs. In addition to an initial sales value of €2.550, something above R$16.016 today (21/12), Xiaomi itself does not have a screen division, with the Chinese company Visionox being responsible for the display covering the entire device.
