Awards based on the most listened to artists

The winners of the Apple Music Awards are chosen by a team of experts from Apple from the list of most listened to artistsonly in Apple Music during the year. The awards are still in their second edition and can be considered modest when compared to other international music events.

Despite this, its format is innovative, with a 100% virtual event lasting one week. During this period, the announcement of the winners is interspersed with material ranging from performances and interviews to new industry announcements.

The 2020 winners also carry political weight. In a year in which issues of equality and racial conflicts marked the world, four of the five elected by Apple Music Awards are black.
