A Xiaomi announced on Tuesday the launch of its newest product in China: the Xiaomi Paipai “projector”, which will hit stores on November 11. Quotation marks because it is actually an image transmitter like Chromecast, not a cinema-style projector.
The Chinese giant's latest technological venture features integrated support for 5 GHz Wi-Fi technology (802.11ac). This version offers twice the speed of typical home routers.
Xiaomi's idea with the launch of Paipai is to give consumers an alternative to the already famous Chromecast, from Google and devices from Apple.
Multiple connections: Xiaomi Paipai highlights
According to the manufacturer's information, Xiaomi Paipai is compatible with a wide range of devices with HDMI interfaces, allowing it to be physically transmitted to TVs, monitors, etc.
The device also allows you to connect, for example, to a laptop via a USB cable, and, at the same time, to a smart TV, via an HDMI connection. One of the main differentiators of the product, however, is the ability to connect to multiple computers at the same time. By doing so, the Xioami Paipai will offer the user the possibility of quickly switching screens between devices.
Color and price
Available only in white, the Xiaomi Paipai will support Full HD resolution and 60Hz image transmission. The manufacturer's suggested price is 299 yuan, equivalent to US$45, which is around R$254,08 at the current exchange rate. The manufacturer has not officially confirmed which markets, besides the local one, will have access to the Xiaomi Paipai.
