X, formerly Twitter, will have ad monetization in Brazil
Following promises from Elon Musk, the platform has finally enabled monetization for content creators through advertising on posts.
X, formerly Twitter, has released monetization for Brazilian content creators through ads implemented in their publications. The new feature is intended for X Premium (Twitter Blue) subscribers and was announced on the social network's support profile.
In the announcement, the support page wrote:
Hi Brazil! Creator subscriptions and ad revenue sharing are being rolled out, so you can get paid to post.
X support page.
To participate in ad revenue, users must meet certain requirements, such as being a Premium subscriber or verified organization, having at least 5 million organic impressions on posts in the last 3 months, and having at least 500 followers.
Interested parties can apply by clicking “Ad Revenue Share” on X’s monetization page.
Delivering on the promise of monetization:
- Monetization for content creators was one of Elon Musk's promises when he purchased the social network.
- The ad-based monetization feature was launched in July in the United States.
- At the time, influencers reported receiving between $1 and $40.
- The platform did not make it clear whether it has a payment ceiling for monetizing ad revenue.
- In April, the social network launched a subscriptions feature, allowing content creators to monetize “exclusive content” for their followers on the platform.
Payments will be made to a Stribe account, where creators can transfer the money to their preferred bank account.
However, it is still unclear whether payment for revenue will be made in dollars or reais. This doubt will only be resolved when Brazilian creators disclose information about their earnings.
