WhatsApp is improving the shopping experience for sellers and users by adding a new feature: Flows. With the new tool, you can book flights and make purchases without having to leave the app.

How does Flows work?

  • Sellers can use various blocks, such as a text box, a calendar, and even an airplane seat selector, to provide an enhanced shopping experience within WhatsApp.
  • Additionally, Flows lets you schedule appointments, fill out forms, register for events, and more.
  • According to Meta, these new tools will be available to companies in the coming months.

WhatsApp has announced that it is currently testing with several companies, including Banco Pan and retailer Magalu. In addition to these, the list of companies participating in the tests includes Lenovo, Indian travel service Redbus, Indian bank SBI and car resale platform Spinny, as reported by TechCrunch.

Shopping and e-commerce is one of the areas we want to focus on. The goal is to offer commercial messaging in a way that companies and people can do much more directly in chat.

Nikila Srinivasan, vice president of business messaging at Meta, told TechCrunch.

While Flows is primarily focused on e-commerce businesses, WhatsApp also has plans to develop “enriching experiences” for other types of businesses in the future, the executive mentioned.
