All about the best cell phones

As we get closer to the launch of the new Galaxy S24, rumors are gaining momentum, and the latest speculation may not be encouraging. According to information from the device's homologation in China, Samsung's next most powerful and advanced smartphones should not offer fast charging.

What do you need to know:

  • According to the approval in China, the Galaxy S24 should not present improvements in battery recharge time.
  • The document issued by CCC, equivalent to Anatel in China, indicates that the Galaxy S24 supports up to 25 watts of charging, while the S24 Plus and Ultra reach 45 watts.
  • These values are identical to those currently used in the Galaxy S23 models.
  • On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 could stand out as Samsung's first smartphone with the ability to request assistance via satellites.

We usually associate the most expensive phone with the one that offers the best performance in all aspects, regardless of price. It usually has the best screen, the best cameras, high performance and ample storage. However, this scenario seems to be changing when it comes to battery charging speed.

This is evidenced by the recent information released by the SamMobile website, which is based on a homologation document issued by the CCC, the Chinese body equivalent to Anatel in Brazil. According to this certificate, the Galaxy S24 will be compatible with chargers of up to 25 watts, while the Galaxy S24 Plus and Ultra models will support chargers of up to 45 watts.

So it seems that, at least when it comes to charging speed, Samsung's new smartphones may not follow the trend of offering the best performance in all areas, even on the most expensive models.

Galaxy S24 Ultra could have up to 16GB of RAM (!)

If this data is confirmed, it exactly matches the specifications of the corresponding models in the Galaxy S23 line, which are currently available in all markets. Therefore, at least when it comes to charging time when connected to the power outlet with the appropriate adapter – remembering that in many regions it is not even provided in the packaging – the Galaxy S24 may not meet consumers' expectations.

However, other rumors could make up for this lack of evolution, such as the possibility of a screen with brightness reaching up to 2,5 nits and the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, scheduled to be launched in October. In addition, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could raise the technical specifications to impressive levels, with up to 16 GB of RAM, which is equivalent to the amount of memory in my own computer.

Samsung is expected to announce the models in the first quarter of next year, generally between late January and late February.
