It's not complicated to transfer your WhatsApp Messenger account to WhatsApp Business. This change may even be the best option for many companies and small businesses, considering that Facebook has been looking to offer improvements to the app for business accounts. WhatsApp Business brings several features aimed at users' businesses, allowing the promotion (and catalog management) of products, customer service, SAC, among other functions.

You need to follow a few simple steps to transfer your WhatsApp Messenger on Android or iPhone to WhatsApp Business. In both cases, remember to do backup for safety before anything else.

First, you need to update the WhatsApp Messenger app installed on your phone (checking this in the app store itself). Android or iPhone) and download WhatsApp Business on Play Store ou on the App Store. Once downloaded, open the app and read the Terms of Service. Tap Agree and Continue to accept the terms.

Now, the app will ask you if you want to use your current WhatsApp Messenger number (which the app automatically identifies) for WhatsApp Business. Yes, you can have two WhatsApp accounts on the same cell phone (Business is not necessarily limited to business use.) That is, you can use one account as “personal” and another for your business, but this can be a bit counterintuitive.

Using the same number as WhatsApp Messenger, Business will transfer media files (including favorite stickers and wallpapers) between the apps. Your chat settings (such as muted conversations and custom ringtones) and chat history will also be transferred. All you need to do is allow this import of history and media by clicking Continue and then Allow.

If you are going to use another number for WhatsApp Business (which can be a mobile or landline), you need to first follow the confirmation steps. Then enter the six-digit code to confirm the number. Here's a detail for iPhone, where you don't need to enter the six-digit code if iCloud Keychain is turned on and you've already confirmed your number on the same device previously.

Create your business profile and tap Next. You can continue editing your business profile once your WhatsApp Business account is active. WhatsApp notes that it is not currently possible to transfer all of your information from WhatsApp Business back to WhatsApp Messenger. If you decide to switch back to WhatsApp Messenger, you will lose all of your business account features, as well as your chats and media files created while using WhatsApp Business.
