Among Us gained a series of new features during the Summer Game Fest live broadcast this Thursday (10), including a new mode: hide and seek. The game that was a fever at the beginning of the pandemic saw its player numbers drop after a long time without any news and now it seems that the developers are wanting to reverse this.
After a new map, airship, released in April, the mobile game will now allow players to play hide-and-seek while completing tasks and being chased by a killer in Among Us. In the mode, a player must find and kill all the other players (with a much tighter camera) before they complete the tasks. The difference here is that everyone knows who the killer is and must escape from him.
The curious thing is that this mode is present in the game Suspects: Mystery Mansion by Brazilian developer Wildlife Studios, a kind of copy of Among Us released a few months ago that now has one of its main novelties being copied by the “original” game.
Other news in Among US
Hide-and-seek mode isn't the only change in Among US, two other "roles" will be added to the game. Now, in addition to the crewmates and impostors, there will also be the Sheriff and the Scientist, who first appeared in mods of the game.
It's not yet clear what these new characters' roles will be, but if it's anything like the mods, the sheriff can kill the impostor, but will be killed if he chooses the wrong person. The scientist, on the other hand, can give powers to his shipmates, with the ability to become invisible. However, he needs to be careful not to grant abilities to the assassin.
Additionally, a new map was also announced, but no information about it was shown. There will also be new cosmetic items and customization colors. The news should arrive in the next few weeks (except the new map which will still take some time).
