TikTok announced on Thursday (20/5) that it has released the option to delete comments in bulk on its platform. The update aims to improve the social network's fight against bullying.
According to TikTok, it’s now easier for creators to deal with waves of attacks and unwanted comments on their posts, with the ability to delete multiple comments at once or report them for violating the community terms of use. In a statement, the video social network said: “Today, we’re launching a new way for creators to more easily manage interactions with their content. People put their hearts and souls into creating and entertaining on TikTok, and we recognize how disheartening it can be to receive mean comments on videos.”
To manage interactions on a video, users can long-press on a comment or tap the pencil icon in the top left corner to open an options window. From there, users can now select up to 100 comments or accounts, rather than having to go through them one by one.
Community Updates
In 2020, TikTok adopted a policy of frequent updates on its social network. In addition to the option to delete comments in bulk, in recent months, the platform has also implemented a series of features that optimize the user experience, such as the option to automatic subtitles for videos (English only), poll boxes for live streams and more.
The social network also created an investment fund in education content creators. The goal is to diversify TikTok's audience by attracting more serious topics to the community. In addition to the issue of safety and combating bullying, in early May, TikTok released a guide for parents of teenage users on how to protect them from harassment on the internet.
According to TikTok, the option to delete comments in bulk is already available to iOS users in select markets, but should be rolling out to all users soon.
