The Galaxy A82 5G, which may or may not have a very interesting camera system, is coming to fruition. It appeared in the Geekbench under the number SM-A826S and had some details revealed.
According to the website's listing, the phone underwent performance testing with 6 GB of RAM running Android 11. As for the processor, it came with the codename msmnile, which refers to the Snapdragon 855. And this is a relevant point about the product, since the South Korean company usually develops phones with increasing numbering, that is, the Galaxy S20 is inferior to the S21. But, if the information is confirmed, the Galaxy A82 5G model will have a chipset that has already been surpassed in two versions.
Given the rumors surrounding the line, this could indicate that the manufacturer has only tested a prototype. There is a possibility that we will see a concrete benchmark with better performance. Still, this is not the first time that Samsung has produced a cell phone with a previous-generation processor, this also happened with the Galaxy f62.
Speculations about the line
Another important piece of information from Geekbench was the model number that appeared in the list. Previously, the number SM-A826B was circulating on the internet being associated with the Galaxy A82 5G. The number that appeared in the benchmark, however, is different: SM-A826S. This could mean that the line will have more than one model.
Analyzing the information from this angle, it is possible to assume another explanation for the old processor. The model tested must be a basic version. The version with a different numbering could be the Pro cell phone in the line and should come with better specifications. Since the details about the product are still under wraps, it may still be a few months before the launch and more information may emerge.
