All about the best cell phones

A common scam on the internet is when a user who owns a targeted arroba, usually short names, has his account hacked and sold to someone else. Now, in an action led by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok, they are working to make life difficult for these hackers, and thus, ensure greater security for users.

The joint action of the platforms is focused on the website OGUsers, a community known for selling stolen accounts. In a case that attracted attention in last july, a user from OGUsers hacked verified Twitter accounts en masse. The social network was forced to suspend tweets from verified users to resolve the issue.

Facebook recently suspended hundreds of accounts linked to this hacking community. The action includes accounts that claimed to be buying stolen arrobas, as well as “middleman” accounts. These middlemen “hold” the buyer’s money so that they are not deceived by the seller in these criminal transactions, and they keep a percentage of the amount paid.

New feature for deleted posts

Another change Facebook made to make it harder for hackers to work was the introduction of a “Recently Deleted”. By proving to be the real owner of a hacked account, the user can use this feature to restore posts that have been deleted within 30 days. Hackers are also prevented from permanently deleting posts if they cannot prove to be the real owner of the @.

According to the security journalist Brian Krebs, hackers are stealing Instagram, Twitter and TikTok accounts through intimidation, harassment, coercion, extortion and techniques such as SIM card swapping. Facebook itself has admitted that even with its latest actions, it is very unlikely to stop hackers completely. To ensure the security of your profiles, it is always good to remember the classic tips: use a strong password, enable two-factor identification and, if possible, use authentication apps that generate codes for double verification directly on your cell phone.
