Twitter is getting on users' nerves due to a bug in dark mode. In addition to making the theme completely black in dark mode the default, it also came with a bonus bug. Numerous users are reporting, unfortunately for their eyes, that the update simply left the Twitter in the standard version, all white, disabling night mode automatically.
Update brought a huge surprise
According to Twitter, the bug occurs when dark mode is disabled on the computer while remaining active on the app from the cell phone. So, the social network doesn't really know what to do, due to this discrepancy, and chooses to prioritize what the website says. And perhaps the logic behind this bug also explains the fact that it only happens on the PC.
That's right, anyone who uses Twitter only on their cell phone, whether on Android, whether in the iOS, you can celebrate, since you won't be affected by the dark mode bug. The most that can happen is that the app will change the color, in dark mode, from navy blue to the all-black theme. But then you just have to select the color again. In any case, of course this bug isn't the end of the world, but it caught a lot of people by surprise.
After all, imagine the situation. It's the middle of the night and you want to take one last look at your timeline before going to sleep. "No problem, I use night mode" you think innocently, sitting in front of your computer with the lights off. Suddenly, the app opens with day mode, that is, completely white. It's certainly an experience we wouldn't wish on anyone.
Twitter justifies itself
About update itself, Twitter said in a statement to the The Verge that its goal was to make the user's life easier, adapting the app to the operating system's settings. That is, for cell phones configured to work in night mode, Twitter would automatically choose the app's dark mode when it was opened. And the same for light mode.
So far, however, there has been no mention of a fix for Twitter's dark mode bug, which will likely come with a new update. In the meantime, be very careful when opening the site in the early hours of the morning without being properly prepared.
