Targus unveiled its UV-C LED disinfection light at CES 2021, which promises to make the workplace more hygienic. The device can purify cell phones, keyboards, mice, and other objects (or materials) that are placed under its light. We've already shown it here some accessories interesting with ultraviolet light, but this is one of the coolest.
Targus’s light uses UV-C LEDs to combat pathogens that exist wherever it is illuminated. UV light alters the DNA of bacteria and viruses so that they are unable to reproduce. As such, regular use of the light can be effective in eliminating harmful bacteria on device surfaces, complementing cleaning and other hygiene and safety measures, Targus says.

Furthermore, with it, the user does not need to clean with chemical products or liquids that can damage electronic devices. Due to its practicality, this lamp was honored with one of the CES 2021 Innovation Awards (in the Computer Peripherals & Accessories category).
How does it work?
The lamp turns on its UV-C LED light every hour, in bursts lasting five minutes, disinfecting the workspace. To optimize the results of its operation, motion sensors are used. The lamp stops lighting if the sensors detect any movement within the illuminated area or from outside to inside. After five minutes of inactivity, the process is restarted.

Designed for use in environments such as offices (or home offices), the lamp fits perfectly next to a computer, with its UV-C light aimed at the devices. This new product from Targus is very useful for devices and objects that are in constant contact with the hands, such as mice and keyboards, as well as cell phones.

The lamp is part of a series of releases from Targus called Work From Anywhere (or work from anywhere), which also highlights the themes Work Healthy and Work Sustainably.
