After Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol and the US president's accounts were blocked on Facebook, on Instagram and on Twitter, now it's YouTube's turn to speak out and announce that it will ban Trump supporters' channels. Yesterday, a video of the president spreading fake news and conspiracy theories had already been taken down.

YouTube took to Twitter to announce that, starting today, any channels that post videos with false claims of electoral fraud or anything that goes against the social network's policies will be warned and, if they persist, will be banned forever.
According to the profile, last month thousands of videos with fake news about politics and the results of the presidential election were removed – including several pieces of content that Trump posted on his channel.
Permanent ban on strike 3
YouTube was already considering putting disseminators of fake news on ice and, since updating its policy in December, it was determined that content that went against the new rules would be removed without penalty during a grace period, which would end on January 20, the day of the presidential inauguration.
“Channels that receive a strike are temporarily suspended from posting or live streaming,” YouTube’s tweet reads. For those who receive three strikes in 90 days, the company will take a tougher stance and ban the channels permanently.
“We enforce our policies and penalties consistently, regardless of who uploads them,” the post concludes. YouTube’s usage policies can be found in the page’s Help Center.
