The first cell phone announced by Honor after the company was sold by Huawei had its first image leaked on the Chinese social network Weibo. The device had previously appeared in renders, but now you can get a better idea of its design, which has as its main difference a huge cascading screen, which takes up a good part of the sides of the Honor V40.
The device has already suffered some delays. Initially scheduled for December, the device was later listed for the 12th and now, the new leak suggests that it could arrive on the 18th of this month.
Without a doubt, the most controversial point of the Honor V40 is its curved screen. Information suggests that it should have a generous 6,72 inches. This should also be the first time that a smartphone in the V line arrives with an OLED screen.

Waterfall displays gained traction with Samsung's Galaxy Edge line, but over time the number of "bezel-less" devices has been decreasing. There are still examples like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Vivo Nex 3, as well as the Motorola Edge itself, but the trend has definitely not caught on.
Perhaps the main reason for this is precisely the absence of edges, which, in addition to making it difficult to use protective covers (and you definitely don't want to break that huge screen), also makes the implementation of physical buttons complicated.
There are some solutions, of course, such as covers that partially protect the device and buttons located on the back or on the edges of the device (some are even reduced and fitted into the tiny edge that the phone has). But in all of these alternatives, the features always end up lacking.
There's obviously a beauty and a modern feel to these infinite displays, but the truth is that curves aren't necessarily functional. We'll have to wait and see how the Honor V40's waterfall display will behave, which shouldn't take long to happen. Scheduled for release on the 18th, the official presentation is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
