Whether that's a good or bad thing for such a political work is up to each individual. But 75 years after its first edition was published, George Orwell's political novel Animal Farm, a commentary on totalitarianism, is now available in the form of a game.

called Orwell's Animal Farm é a game in 2D, hand-drawn, whose narrative experience is based on choices that put the player in the shoes of the animals.

It all begins when Major, an older pig, gathers the farm animals to share a dream: to be governed by themselves, the animals, without the submission and exploitation of man. However, “there was a stone in the middle of the road”. Despite the animals’ attempt to create a utopian society, a dictatorship as corrupt as human society is established among them. And that’s when the player will influence a series of events.

According to the description available in Steam platform, the gamer can choose which of the animals' wishes to follow, who will be ignored or marginalized, all so that he can define the fate of the farm.

The adventure will also require strategic planning to defend the territory, balance resources and keep the animal population under control. The goal is to expel the farmers and form a new Republic, changing the course of history.

With a strong political tone, the game is based on the words of George Orwell who said that “all questions are political and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, madness, hatred and schizophrenia”. The game aims to extrapolate the universe of entertainment by mixing it with contemporary political reality.

Licensed by the Orwell Estate, it was developed with the official approval of the Orwell Foundation, in partnership with Nerial, the developer behind the successful Bafta-nominated series Reigns.

Available in English, Spanish, French, Italian and German, with dubbing only in English and subtitles in other languages. Not yet available in Portuguese. Google Play Store costs R$27,99 and in Steam £ 18,62.

Be aware that to run on PC, it requires a 64-bit operating system, Windows 7/8/8.1/10, with a 1,5 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM and 1 GB of space.

Animal Farm is a text-based adventure game that may not be to everyone's taste (but shouldn't be a problem for fans of the novel). So far, from the few user reviews available on the site, Steam platform, all are positive.
