Chinese retail chain Huihuibao has revealed a list of smartphones that lost the least value in 2020. And the phone that tops the ranking is the Xiaomi Mi 10. The champion achieved 73,22 points in the “Brand Preservation Index” indicator. To reach this result, the calculation carried out by representatives of the Huihuibao network uses the following calculation: take the value of the cell phone at the time of its launch, subtract 20%, divide by its current market price and multiply by 100.
Completing the podium of the evaluation alongside the Xiaomi Mi 2020 with the best value among 10 cell phones was another Xiaomi model, its “brother”, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, and the Honor 30 Pro +, which scored, respectively, 72,67 and 71,87 points in the complicated Brand Preservation Index evaluation calculation. In Brazil, the Xiaomi Mi 10 currently costs around R$4.580, including taxes.
Huawei dominates rest of top 10
Although two Xiaomi smartphones topped the list as those that lost the least value in 2020, the top 10 was dominated by another Chinese cell phone manufacturer this year: Huawei – ironically, outside the top 3 of Huihuibao.
The brand, which also leads the number of 5G patents registered in the world, placed four cell phone models among the 10 that lost the least value in 2020. They are: Huawei Mate Xs (4th place), Huawei P40, Huawei P40 (5th), Huawei P40 Pro (6th) and Huawei Nova 7 (10th). Completing the top 10 are the Honor 30 Pro, in 7th place, the One Plus 8, in 8th, and the Honor Play 4, in 9th place.
5G smartphones around the world

The Xiaomi Mi 10 is not the 5G smartphone that lost the least value in 2020 for nothing. The Chinese flagship is one of many that have been dominating the market and boosting sales of smartphones prepared for the new technology across the globe.
According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, in the first ten months of the year, 252 million cell phones manufactured in the country were sold on the global market, of which 124 million – or 49,4% of the total – were devices equipped with 5G technology.
