If the Galaxy Note's artificial intelligence had feelings, it would certainly be apprehensive to know, once and for all, whether or not the model will be canceled by Samsung in 2021. After seeing the company give clues that next year's model would be the last of the famous series, yet another twist. New information has once again indicated that it will, in fact, be deactivated without a proper farewell.
Reuters Agency disclosed a report on Tuesday night (1/12) citing three different sources who assured that there are “no plans” within Samsung for the development of the Note line next year. The sources are all linked to the manufacturer (and all under the condition of anonymity).
Famous for being one of the company's premium smartphones and for coming with the S Pen, the Galaxy Note would be canceled due to greater investments in Galaxy S21.
As expected, one of the sources also stated that the much-hyped stylus that came with the Note series could be used on both the S line and the foldable phones, which are expected to have a new range of high-end smartphones launched in 2021 by Samsung. In any case, it is still unclear whether it will come in the box. The tendency is for it to be sold separately, like other smartphone accessories.
If the S Pen does come with the products, the difference could weigh heavily on the consumer's pocket, as the Galaxy Note has always been one of Samsung's most expensive models.
Foldables and S21 Ultra will fight for Note's space
As Samsung employees themselves explained to Reuters, the fight in the hearts of Galaxy Note fans after it is definitively canceled will be divided into two ranges: the one made up of new folding and the S21 Ultra, top of the line in the S series.
The South Korean company intends to launch, in addition to new members of the Z Fold line, such as the From Fold 3 and the Z Fold SE, new additions to the Z Flip line, also part of the folding line of the company, such as the Z flip 2 and Z Flip Lite, this one with a much more affordable price than its folding brothers.
The most expensive device in the Galaxy S21 family, which will also feature S21 and S21+ versions, may have some differences compared to its “smaller siblings”, but it remains to be seen whether they will be enough to win the hearts of those who are saddened by the Galaxy Note being canceled.
The main one should be the 6,8-inch screen with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO technology.
In addition, the Galaxy S21 Ultra should have a 5000 mAh battery and a quad camera setup, with a 108 MP main camera, a 12 MP wide-angle camera and two 10 megapixel cameras.
As we mentioned, everything indicates that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will also support the S Pen. Samsung plans to offer various cases that will support the storage of the pen next to the phone.
