After launching the Dimensity 820 Last month, MediaTek turned its attention to a more modest segment of the market. The company launched two new members of the Helio G line, the Helio G35 and the Helio G25, which are tailored for entry-level gaming smartphones.

Both processors are very basic, so their biggest appeal is their price. Both the Helio G35 and G25 are manufactured using the 12nm process. Both are octa-core and feature Cortex-A53 cores, the G35 with 2,3GHz and the G25 with 2.0GHz.

The GPU is a PowerVR GE8320 clocked at 680MHz in the G35 and 650MHz in the G25. They do not have 5G connectivity, only 4G LTE, but they can be used with two 4G SIMs. In addition, they also have Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, and can have FM radio.

Both processors have two RAM options, 6 GB (LPDDR4X) or 4 GB (LPDDR3). The Helio G35 can be used with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080) screens, while the Helio G25 can be used with HD+ screens (1600 x 720 pixels). Both can be used with 20:9 aspect ratio screens.

The more expensive model supports a 25-megapixel camera, or two 13-megapixel cameras each, while the G25 supports a 21-megapixel camera, or two 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras. Both chips also support the Bokeh effect (background blur) and electronic image stabilization.

The Helio G35 will power the new Realme C11 and Redmi 9A smartphones, and the Helio G25 will power the Redmi 9C. The three smartphones were presented today.
