After launching last month headphones With their Pokémon-themed headphones, Razer is now targeting the luxury market. They've introduced the Razer Opus, a higher-end product tailored to take on competitors like Bose, Sony, and Beats.
Active noise cancellation with four microphones
The new Razer Opus headphones feature active noise cancellation (ANC) and THX certification to deliver great sound quality. The cancellation system is hybrid ANC, which uses four microphones. In addition, it has two more microphones for voice calls.
They are also THX certified with pre-set THX EQ settings that can be accessed via the Opus app. Not only have the headphones undergone extensive quality testing, but they have also had THX input from the very beginning of their development.
The speakers are 40mm. The foam cushions on the earcups are covered in synthetic leather, and according to Razer, the headphones are comfortable enough to wear for many hours without causing discomfort. They weigh 265 grams.
The Razer Opus also pauses the music when you take the earbuds off and rest them on your shoulders, and automatically starts playing when you put them back on your ears. Additionally, the earbuds have an attention mode that lets you hear what’s going on around you at the touch of a button.
The battery lasts up to 25 hours of use with noise cancellation activated, that is, great autonomy.
Connectivity is Bluetooth 4.2, but they can also be used with a cable. The headphones feature AAC, APTX, A2DP, AVRCP and HFP codecs.
The Opus headphones are also foldable and come with a protective case. They cost $200 in the US.
