Qualcomm launched today (11/05) its new Snapdragon 768G processor, an evolution of the Snapdragon 765G. The focus of the new processor is to better serve the gamer and mid-range smartphone market.

Like the previous model, the Snapdragon 768G has eight cores, but its main core is a Kryo 475 overclocked to 2,8GHz, while the previous one had 2,4GHz. With this, its performance is 15% higher than the 765G, according to information from Qualcomm.

The Adreno 620 GPU has also been improved, and is clocked at 750 MHz (the previous one was 625 MHz). In practice, this change translates into graphics that are up to 15% faster, according to the company.

The new processor also supports Bluetooth 5.2, instead of the Snapdragon 5.0G's Bluetooth 765. Another difference is that the new processor supports displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, something very important for gaming smartphones.

It supports a single camera of up to 192 megapixels or a dual camera of up to 22 megapixels. Like the previous model, it has Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ technology.

Like the previous generation, it has an integrated 5G modem, the Snapdragon X52, which has not been changed, so the 768G has support for downloads of up to 3,7 Gbps and uploads of 1,6 Gbps and support for mmWave, sub-6GHz and 5G SA and NSA.

The first smartphone with the Snapdragon 768G was also announced alongside the processor, and it's the Redmi K30 Racing Edition from Xiaomi.
