Xiaomi launches Mi Box 4S Pro TV box

November 6th, 2020

The Mi Box from Xiaomi are quite popular, largely because of the specifications they offer and also because they have an affordable price. Now the manufacturer is launching a new version, the Mi Box 4S Pro.

With support for 8k resolution, four times higher than current models, the television device arrives on the Chinese market worth 99 yuan (about R$340,00).

Thus, Xiaomi launches its first TV box with support for resolutions higher than 4k. And the news doesn't stop there.

The Mi Box 4S Pro features:

  • 16 GB of storage space, compared to 8 GB on current models;
  • HDMI 2.1 output, which offers a transmission rate 266% higher than the HDMI 2.0 already used by Mi Box S;
  • Support voice controls via Bluetooth.

As the model is aimed only, at least for the moment, at the Chinese market, the Android TV system gives way to MIUI for TV, Xiaomi's own.

Will it go out into the world?

Visually, the new TV box looks a lot like the original Mi Box 4, launched in 2018, but with the difference that it is white.

As sales of the new model in China started yesterday, the 5th. As for availability for other countries, at the moment we don't have such encouraging news.

When asked by Android Authority about the global launch of the Mi Box 4S Pro, Xiaomi revealed that it has no plans for the international market at the moment. Which could be bad news for those who were waiting for this news (in addition to the Chinese).
