Today (29/03) Xiaomi decided to draw the spotlight to itself: a big event brought the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite and other devices — like Mi Band 6 — to life, but an interesting accessory has also been made official. We are talking about the Mi Wireless Charging Stand, Xiaomi's wireless charger with 80W power, which was already in internal testing.
80W charger looks good
Okay, this may sound like an exaggeration for wireless charging, but it's worth remembering that Chinese companies are already putting flagships on the market that can actually take advantage of an accessory like this. OnePlus 9 Pro, for example, is compatible with 50W wireless charging. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra itself should take advantage of some of the Charging Stand's potential, as it supports 67W wireless charging.
Xiaomi promises that the 5000 mAh battery of its newest flagship will be filled in just 36 minutes. With the wireless charger, we have a 120W power adapter. As well as a charging accessory released by Meizu — and as the name suggests — the smartphone stands upright, in portrait mode, while charging.
Xiaomi’s “AirPower” provokes Apple
Alongside the 80W wireless charger, Xiaomi also announced a wireless device capable of recharging three phones or gadgets at once. This one is called the Charging Pad. It has 19 internal coils that can be moved depending on the devices placed on top of it. It provides 20W of wireless power, which is still the reality for many phones on the market despite the efforts of Chinese brands.
Xiaomi assumes that it started developing the new accessory after the Apple have canceled your AirPower. The teasing, however, did not stop there, as the company released a promotional image in which its accessory recharges an iPhone. For those who don't remember, the AirPower it was canceled, therefore, according to Apple, did not achieve satisfactory results for its launch.
Xiaomi's 80W wireless charger costs 499 Yuan, or the equivalent of R$437 (in direct conversion today, 29/03), while the Charging Pad for multiple devices arrives for 599 Yuan, or around R$517. Flagships don't come cheap, and so it's no surprise that the accessories to make the most of today's launches aren't either.
