After years, a WhatsApp update finally includes a function to clean images, memes, gifs and large files. This makes it easier to unclog your phone's storage and free up space for other things. Previously, you could only completely block the reception of files via WhatsApp.
No more hoarding
Chatting for hours with friends on WhatsApp or participating in work and family groups can mean one thing: excessive use of your phone's storage. WhatsApp downloads even without opening it. And those who participate in groups have probably already gotten lost in a mountain of gifs, memes, images and videos that they never downloaded by choice, trying to find what they wanted. In addition, they may have received a message that their device is out of memory space.
But this type of problem may have its days numbered. One update which implements the storage management function. With it, the user is able to organize and clean images or other large files quickly, easily and massively.
How will it work?
The smart tool maps messages to detect media that has been forwarded multiple times. This allows you to group, select multiple items, and delete everything at once. The tool can also organize images and other large files in descending order of size, making it easier to choose what to clear from memory.
To avoid accidents with accidentally deleted media, since it has become easier to get rid of the accumulation, the application has taken precautions. The storage management tool also shows a preview of what will be saved on the phone. To access the function to clear images on WhatsApp, simply open the application, go to Settings, then Storage and Data Usage and, finally, Manage Storage.
