Images and information about the new Moto G Stylus 5G leaked

31 May 2021

A tipster today leaked new renders and information about the Moto G Stylus 5G, the 5G version of Motorola's entry-level stylus-equipped smartphone, the Moto G Stylus (2021). The model, codenamed Denver, is the 5G variant of the 2021 version — the one that hit stores late last year. show up on Amazon, but it was quickly taken offline, and was only released in January of that year.

Check out the original tweet below with images of Motorola's smartphone with stylus:

Before the official launch of the 4G version, another tipster had published video renders of the Moto G Stylus 2021, and if the 5G model follows the same path, it allows for some estimates: side fingerprint detection module, USB Type-C port, 3,5mm audio input and a compartment for the stylus pen. A set of four cameras, with a primary of at least 48 MP, should also be part of the set.

Device may come with Snapdragon 480 chipset

According to informant Nils Ahrensmeier, this Moto G Stylus 5G is the same Motorola Denver that appeared on the OnLeaks profile in January of this year, along with the new Moto G Power 2021 and Play 2021. Now, the information present is that the new 5G device should contain 256 GB of storage.

Nils Ahrensmeier believes that the new smartphone will come with the Snapdragon 480 chipset, which has 5G, and was introduced earlier this year by Qualcomm. The Moto G Stylus 2021 uses the Snapdragon 678, which does not have 5G. Other speculations talk about a 5000 mAh battery and a 6,8-inch FullHD+ screen. Other details about the new Motorola device are still unknown.

If the rumors are true, it's clear that Motorola is positioning the Moto G Stylus 5G in a niche smartphone market that's been largely left out in the cold: devices with a stylus and a competitive price tag. Right now, the current models with the stylus are the Galaxy S21 Ultra, with the S-Pen, and the Galaxy Note S20 Ultra, and neither of those are the definition of affordable. Yes, the current Moto G Stylus (2021) is a cheaper option ($200), but as we've seen, it doesn't have 5G.

Motorola has not announced a release date for the 5G version of the Moto G Stylus or confirmed any details about the configurations. The new device is expected to be sold exclusively in the United States, at least initially.
