After last week's confusion involving tweets from official Amazon accounts attacking known critics of the company, now several accounts of alleged warehouse employees of the e-commerce giant are popping up on Twitter. And Twitter itself is confused about what to do with these fake profiles related to Amazon, whether they are real accounts, parody accounts or trolls with nothing else to do.
How Motherboard reported, it all started in 2019, when Amazon actually launched “ambassador” accounts, which aimed to defend the company from criticism about poor working conditions in its warehouses. These profiles, which began with @AmazonFC, became a meme, with random people creating such accounts to poke fun at Amazon’s attempt to clean up its own act. Over time, the joke was forgotten.
But now, as nearly 6 workers at an Amazon warehouse in Alabama are about to vote Whether they join a union or not, the @AmazonFC accounts are back. These profiles were created recently, and some do not appear to be parodies.

One profile allegedly belongs to a movie-loving mother of two who has worked at Amazon since 2020. Another user @AmazonFC tweeted: “Hi. I’m a real human being. I’ve been at Amazon for almost six years as an associate and I can confidently say that I’ve never felt like working here is a bad fit for me. Amazon has given me SO many opportunities to grow!”
Comedian Kylie Brakeman even made a video about the situation, recalling cases in which Amazon workers had to urinate in bottles so as not to be punished for taking too many bathroom breaks:

Twitter responded by suspending allegedly fake Amazon profiles, but according to the social network, the accounts can be restored if they can be proven to be real people or parodies.
