Wireless charging technology is already advancing to reach even mid-range smartphones. As a result, it is common for more companies to be interested in launching accessories of this type. Others, however, do not even want to make a great effort to explore this market, and this is the case of Twelve South with its new base for the Magsafe charger. Apple.
Bringing more versatility to Apple's device, the base Strong It has a minimalist design and aims to make wireless charging more… elegant. It is more practical by allowing the smartphone to “float” during the process. With the possibility of rotation, it is even possible to leave a video class or movie playing during the process, as long as you are willing to wait longer to fill up the battery.
It is important to remember that the Twelve South base is in fact just a base, and requires the user to already have a Magsafe in order to work. The accessory that actually provides recharging is fitted into the nozzle that comes out of the flat support. Therefore, there is no hardware technology in the product, but rather ergonomics. For the price, however, some potential buyers would certainly expect more from this launch.
It arrives in the United States for US$ 40 (R$ 217 in direct conversion today, 27/04). Sales will take place at Apple Stores and also on the Cupertino company's online store. For now, the Twelve South base for Magsafe charger is not available in Brazil. The availability of other accessories from the brand on Apple's national website may bring hope to those who liked this idea and are willing to accept Tim Cook's price conversion logic. It is worth remembering that another launch in the wireless charger market was Nomad's product. It doesn't come complete, just like Twelve South's release.
