The iPhone 13 will have all models in the line with a LiDAR sensor, according to information on the website MacRumors. Currently, only the Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone 12 adopt the scanning system, which allows, with the help of augmented reality, the measurement of the distance and shape of objects in relation to the device.
According to the website, the implementation of LiDAR on all iPhone models part of a plan from Apple to make augmented reality (AR) a more popular technology. In the company's assessment, the use of this sensor is still limited in its phones, being restricted to low-light photography and AR operations. The popular analyst at Apple, Ming-chi Kuo, however, believes that LiDAR sensors will remain exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Max.
Image capture should be one of the focuses of Apple on the iPhone 13. In addition to screen refresh rate improvements, the camera module would have been enlarged considerably, according to information from YouTuber Lewis Hilsenteger (Unbox Therapy). This would follow the recent development of Raw format images for the iPhone, which can be 10 to 12 times larger than HEIF or JPEG files.
Storage and battery
Daniel Ives, the same tipster who leaked the LiDAR-related issues to MacRumors, also points out that the iPhone 13 will come with 1TB of internal storage. This is also a bet by leaker Jon Prosser. The 1 terabyte option would be double the current 512GB offering and would put the handset on par with the iPad Pro, which offers 1TB and 2TB storage configurations.
Other rumors claim that the new iPhone 13 lineup will also have larger batteries. The iPhone 13 Pro Max will have a 4352mAh capacity instead of the current Pro Max's 3687mAh; the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will come with 3095mAh versus their predecessors' 2815mAh; and the iPhone 13 Mini will adopt a 2406mAh power supply compared to the 2227mAh battery in the iPhone 12 Mini.
