The Game Awards: What will be the best mobile game of 2020?
The candidates for best mobile game of 2020 The Game Awards are set. In a live broadcast on YouTube that lasted about 10 minutes, presenter Geoff Keighley announced the categories and respective games nominated for the award.
As usual, the best mobile game category is still present. In addition, some mobile games were also nominated for other categories, competing head to head with games for PC and consoles. Thus, even though The Game Awards is mostly made up of games for computers and video games, games for Android and iPhone were also present.
Who are the nominees for best mobile game in 2020?

Legends of Runeterra: Like Hearthstone, this is a card game set in the World of Warcraft universe. Legends of Runeterra also draws on the rich League of Legends universe to attract players, but with good gameplay, making it a competitive card game that is easy to learn.
Pokémon Café Mix: Going in a different direction from monster battles, Pokémon Café Mix puts you in charge of a Pokémon café, where you must solve puzzles to fulfill customer orders. Which mobile games are present in other categories?

Among Us, for example, was also nominated for the award for best multiplayer game. Genshin Impact is competing for best RPG game, alongside heavyweights such as Final Fantasy VII Remake and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Meanwhile, a mobile game that is not competing for best mobile game of the year is competing in the “Games for Impact” category, given to games with messages that encourage their players to think about issues related to our society.
In this category, Through the Darkest of Times represents mobile games. The game is set in Germany in 1933, shortly after Hitler took office as the country's chancellor. In it, the player is tasked with leading a small resistance group made up of ordinary people who oppose the Nazi regime.

What is The Game Awards?
Similar to the Oscars for the video game industry, The Game Awards has been around since 2014. Created by journalist and award presenter Geoff Keighley, specialized media outlets from all over the world (including Brazil) vote on the games that should compete in each of the categories.
After the nomination, the same jury then votes on the candidates who should win each category. However, this time their vote has 90% of the weight in the decision. Thus, the other 10% is decided by the public's votes, which can be cast at award website, after completing a registration.
The Game Awards 2020 will take place on December 10th at 21:30pm ET. The event will be broadcast worldwide for free via platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitch, among others.
