Known for versatile models such as the late Yoga Tab 10, Lenovo appears to be gearing up to launch a new all-purpose tablet with an HDMI input connection. At least, that's what it looks like an image posted on the Chinese social network Weibo, last Wednesday (05/05).
The post, shared by the Lenovo Yoga account, shows a Nintendo Switch placed in a dock connected to the tablet – with the Mario Kart Deluxe 8 home screen – and a standard controller. From the image, it can be deduced that this would be a model aimed at gamers and that's it: Lenovo's account does not mention additional details about the product, nor whether it is a tablet or an external monitor with HDMI input. However, it is possible to say that, if it were the second option, the text in the image would not highlight the input detail, which leads us to believe that it is probably a tablet.
Evidence raised by the website XDA Developers The device is reportedly a model called the “Lenovo Yoga X.” The tablet is reportedly being produced by Lenovo to function as a second monitor for laptops, smartphones, and video games—specifically the Nintendo Switch. Once connected to the HDMI input, the device would become a peripheral with secondary display mode, pausing any audio playback in progress and locking the Android operating system with a user password. When not connected, the device would function as a normal tablet.

The design with a thick, cylindrical base is very similar to that of the beloved Yoga family. In the image, the device also appears to be supported by a hidden stand, which prevents us from getting a better idea of the structure.
Rumors about Lenovo's new lines have been quite intense this week. Also on Weibo, information was leaked about the updated generation of Xiaoxin Pad Pro (and its Plus variant), a top-of-the-line tablet from the Chinese company. The device should come with a Snapdragon 870 processor from Qualcomm and 8 GB of RAM.
As for the Lenovo Yoga X, as mentioned above, details are scarce. It's also worth noting that we don't know if the tablet will be available outside of China, nor when it will hit the market. Lenovo has not provided any official information about the possible launch.
