Spotify is making it possible for users to share a snippet of a podcast they’re listening to on other social networks. Previously, users could only post an entire episode, but now users can share a link to a funny part or an important point in a podcast’s discussion.
With the update, users can listen to a podcast and get to an interesting part, then click Share. In the new window that opens, users will see the minutes corresponding to the beginning of the excerpt and a white circle that they can slide to the right to activate, then choose the social network where they want to post, or the person they want to send the excerpt to. Your friends then just need to click on the link to start listening to the podcast from the point you sent.
It is worth making it clear that the rest of the podcast will be in full, so he is not sharing a section in itself, but rather the initial point he wants to highlight.
Spotify Canvas Sharing to Snapchat
In addition to the ability to share specific excerpts from a podcast, Spotify is also making Canvas sharing available on Snapchat. Previously, you could already share Canvases, but on Instagram Stories. Canvases are short looping videos of the music video you’re listening to. Now, if the song you’re playing has a Canvas, you can share it on Snapchat (or Stories), seeing a preview before posting.
