Mysterious Oppo smartphone with 65W charging gets certified
A new smartphone from Oppo, until now completely unknown, has been listed on a certification body in China. According to its description, the Oppo smartphone will have a charging speed of 65W, that is, much faster than the 20W of the iPhone 12.
The initial name is PDRM00, and the document also says that the device would have 5G technology. More details about the smartphone with a 65W battery from Oppo should be revealed soon, when it has its official registration with TENAA (a kind of Chinese Anatel). Unfortunately, we know that it will not be the long-awaited smartphone with 125W battery charging that the company is preparing for next year.
So far, it is considered that the project would reach the market in December, the month in which Oppo intends to launch another model in the Reno series, possibly the Reno 5. Recently, a patent for a cell phone with similar features was also registered in the Asian country, so it is not possible to know which one it would be.
The previous filing for the PDRM00 already has specifications, which include a 6,43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 765G processor. The smartphone will be able to have up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, running Android 10.
Oppo Innovations
Oppo is one of the companies that is presenting the most innovative projects on the market. In addition to the mysterious device with super charging, the company recently revealed the prototype of its first device with extendable screen, the Oppo X 2021. The smartphone is equipped with a display that expands when stretched to the side.
The device's screen is OLED, continuous and flexible, measuring at least 6,7 inches and a maximum of 7,4 inches, which extends like a scroll with a single touch. The company guarantees that there is no visible crease (a problem with foldable devices) on the device. Despite the announcement, there is still no forecast for when the Oppo X 2021 with an extendable screen will be launched.
