Samsung may be preparing the next phase of its flexible display device lineup by developing a foldable tablet. The South Korean company has filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which was granted on February 16.
According to the LetsGoDigital, which identified the application, the patent falls into the Display Device category and the description indicates a tablet from the Galaxy foldable line. The information also states that, unlike smartphones from the Z Fold line, the device should not have an external screen, which makes sense considering that the product is a tablet. No camera was also identified on the back by the project, but this can be changed.

No external screen
The design also suggests some kind of note on both ends of the device, right where the fold is. The edges are also quite thin, just like the latest models in the Galaxy Tab line. The foldable tablet also has a USB-C port on the side, a power button, and speakers. Other than that, there aren't many other details. Remember that just because Samsung has registered the patent doesn't necessarily mean it will launch the product.
So far there is no information about the arrival of the foldable tablet on the market. Samsung's next release in the category should be the Galaxy z fold 3, which has not yet been officially presented, but rumors indicate that it should be released in June.
The model may still arrive with a small external screen, 5,4 inches, much smaller than the 6,23 inches of the Z Fold 2. Internally, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would have 7,7 inches, revealing that at least in physical dimensions it would be practically identical to its predecessor. This suggests that exaggerated bezels could make a return, as we saw with the original Galaxy Fold.
