Samsung launches Galaxy Book (with 4G) and Galaxy Book Odyssey
A busy day for Samsung's notebook line. In addition to presenting the Galaxy Book Pro 4G and Galaxy Book Pro 360 (with 5G), the company announced two more high-performance laptops, the Galaxy Book and the Galaxy Book Odyssey, the first also with 4G connectivity, and the second, more focused on the gamer segment. Both portable computers are designed for excellent performance in games and daily tasks.
According to Samsung announcement Today, both notebooks feature interconnectivity with the Galaxy ecosystem, as well as thin and light designs, with optional unlocking on the power button. Weighing between 1,50 and 1,80 kg, both laptops come equipped with 11th generation Intel processors, Dolby Atmos audio, Windows 10 out of the box and expandable storage.
Both devices will be available at samsung online store in the next few days. Let's start with the model with 4G connectivity.
Galaxy Book with 4G LTE
With a 15,6-inch Full HD display, the Galaxy Book is 356,6 mm wide by 229,1 mm high, and 15,7 mm thick. The model's battery is 54 Watts/hour and charges with a 65W source, also USB Type-C. The camera and connector configurations are the same, with the addition of a nano-SIM. As for connectivity, the Galaxy Book has the same as the top-of-the-line, but without Ethernet and with 4G LTE.
Under the hood, the notebook has models with up to 1 TB of capacity, with options of 8, 12 and 16 GB of RAM. There are versions with the 7th generation Intel i5, i3 and i11 processors, but also with Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. The Galaxy Book can come with Nvidia GeForce MX450 graphics cards or integrated Intel Iris X graphics (i7 and i5 models), or Intel UHD (i3, Pentium Gold and Celeron).
Odyssey doesn't have 4G, but it has an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU
The Galaxy Book Odyssey stands out for being the first notebook to feature Nvidia's RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. In addition, it has the same 15,6-inch Full HD display as the Galaxy Book, and the same height and width dimensions, but is 17,7 thick. The battery is 83 Watts/hour and charges with a power supply USB Type-C of 135 W. The laptop features a 720p HD webcam, Wi-Fi 6 modem, and Bluetooth and Ethernet connections.
In terms of hardware, there are more variations. The Odyssey has storage of up to 1 TB, Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and GeForce RTX 3050 and 3050Ti Max-Q graphics cards. The computer has a minimum of 8 GB of RAM, which can be expanded up to 32 GB. In terms of connectors, the notebook has two USB Type-C inputs, three USB 3.2, an HDMI connector, a microSD reader, and a 3.5 input for headphones and headsets.
