Find out which documents have mobile versions and how to use them
Have you ever been in that situation where you needed a Valid identity document and have forgotten it at home? This is a problem that is largely a thing of the past – but many people still don’t know about it. Many documents can now be accessed directly from a cell phone, in an official manner, without needing a printed version.
Despite this, there are some rules, places that accept them digital documents and others that do not accept it and versions that only serve some specific functions. We will explain how each of them works.

A The National Driver's License (CNH) is already quite useful in itself., in a single document you combine your ID and CPF, in addition to the driving permit itself. Therefore, many people end up driving around with their driver's license and leaving their ID and CPF at home. You don't even need to: nowadays there is the Digital CNH, the version of the document made for cell phones was the first of its kind approved by the federal government and valid throughout Brazil.
The entire process can now be done entirely online (initially, it was necessary to confirm in person at the DMV). Simply download the app and authenticate. The system can also use a QR Code for validation if the device is offline. For security reasons, only one device can be linked to the document.

Voter registration card (e-Title)

The 2020 municipal elections featured a new feature: the e-Title. Developed by the Brazilian Electoral Court, the new feature replaces the physical document with an app. It allows you to check the location of the test and validate it at the polling station.
The advantage is that it completely eliminates the need for a voter registration card or any other document with a photo. Despite this, in its first year of testing, the app showed some instability in the first round and many users had problems obtaining the information in it. Remember when we mentioned that some documents only work partially? This is the case with the Digital Work Card. The virtual document gathers the information from the Work and Social Security Card on your cell phone, but it does not completely replace the printed one.
This is because work records still need to be recorded and confirmed in the paper version of the document, only then are they registered in the system and become valid in the electronic version. Well, this version cannot yet be used throughout Brazil and was launched by the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo. Basically, when you download the app, you take a photo of your physical ID to authenticate it. Facial recognition is also performed in a similar way to other documents on your cell phone. After that, the Digital ID can be used to replace the physical version, but only in agencies in the state of São Paulo. Android iOS
Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (Digital CRLV)

Complementing the digital CNH there is also the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (Digital CRLV), basically the digital version of the car document or any other vehicle registered with Detran.
You know that story about always carrying your document with you when you leave your car because, well, if it gets stolen it might be better to have it with you? Now there's a solution on your cell phone. It doesn't replace the printed version of the document, but it can be used for consultation and also presented if requested in checkpoints and other situations.
You can also use a QR Code or a digital signature to validate and download a PDF. Only the owner can issue the digital version of one or more vehicles, but it can be shared with up to five people. Android iOS.
