As the week begins with LG giving up its smartphone business, to the Apple This new cycle begins with a new possible leak of details about the design of the iPhone 13. A mock-up of the Pro model, presented by an insider with sources from the Cupertino company's supply chain, may have offered details of the redesign of the device's notch.
Reiterating a previous leak, the top “board” of the phone could even be smaller, reducing its dimensions from 5.35 mm in height and 34.83 mm in width to 5.3 mm and 26.8 mm respectively. In addition, the selfie lens would move to the left side of the notch. It is currently offered on the right side.
The mock-up that seeks to anticipate the design of the iPhone 13 also shows that next to the selfie lens we would have, respectively, an infrared camera, the illuminator for Face ID, and the three-dimensional dot projector for the technology. The speaker would be moved from the central region of the notch to the upper edge, becoming even more discreet.
More space for what matters
This design decision for the iPhone 13 line could be replicated across all models, and is likely to particularly benefit the Mini variant. A leak has hinted at the possibility of the Apple maintain the proposal of a device with reduced dimensions despite the iPhone 12 Mini failure, and a reduced notch tends to enhance the device with the smallest screen in the family.
As always, the Apple does not take a position on leaks or rumors, only taking a position in September, when it promotes the new generation of its cell phones. Until then, however, it is quite likely that AirTags and new iMacs and iPads will hit the market.
