An internal failure in Pokémon GO's servers resulted in a wave of unfair punishments for hundreds of players around the world. Niantic, the game's developer, has issued a response on the game's official website to explain that they are aware of the flaw and are working to reverse the bans as quickly as possible.
Pokémon GO players who have suffered some type of unfair punishment can report it to Niantic through the game's support system. However, the company has stated that it is working to reverse the situation, including for those players who have not yet reported the incident.
In addition to the post on the official website, the company took to the official Pokémon GO Twitter profile to calm players: “We are working to revert the warnings of some Trainers who received incorrect punishments on their accounts. This will be done for Trainers automatically, regardless of whether they contacted us or not. We apologize for the error,” it stated.

Celebrations in Pokémon GO
Even after five years since its release, Pokémon GO remains one of the top mobile games today. The augmented reality title took advantage of the franchise's 25th anniversary to hold a series of celebrations on its servers that involve ultra unlocks of the little monsters, as well as dozens of items and special bonuses.
According to Niantic, between July and August, players will be rewarded with the appearance of several rare Pokémon, such as Palkia, Heracross, Alakazam, and Kangaskhan. Additionally, Pokémon Unown U, East and West Sea Shellos, Elgyem, and Espurr will be appearing in one-star raids; Clefairy, Munna, Red-Striped, and blue-striped Basculin, Elgyem, Heatmor, Durant, and more will be appearing more frequently in the wild; and East and West Sea Shellos, red- and blue-striped Basculin, Heatmor, and Durant will be appearing in 7 km Eggs.
