In the music streaming market, platforms that offer high-fidelity sound tend to charge more for it. The first step to breaking down this differentiation of plans was taken by Apple that, today, announced their song “HD” PULL additional costs. Everything indicates that Amazon was already predicting this movement, since now the Music It also has Hi-Fi quality at no extra charge (abroad).
Not yet launched in Brazil, Amazon Music HD cost US$15 (R$78 in direct conversion today, 17/05) in the US for those who were not Amazon Prime subscribers, and US$13 (R$68) for those who were. Now, it is US$10 (R$52) per month for those who have the free shipping service and others, and US$8 (R$42) for those who do. In this last configuration, the Amazon Music HD service — with Hi-Fi music — ends up costing less than the Apple Music, which retails for $10.
Just as Apple Music with HD music, the service allows music in so-called CD quality, with quality of up to 24 bits/192 kHz. In this maximum configuration, the e-commerce giant estimates that there are seven million files available on the service. In 16-bit/44.1 kHz quality, the collection reaches 70 million. Second Amazon Music Vice President Steve Boom said, “This has been something we’ve wanted for a long time.” The company apparently had everything ready to make the changes, but it ended up missing the right time to do so before its rival. No Amazon Music HD in Brazil, for now
One advantage of Amazon Music HD is that it is now available in select territories. Apple Hi-Fi quality music will only be available from June. In Brazil, Jeff Bezos' service has at least four different subscription options, starting with the free plan, which like Spotify — which will also have a plan with high-fidelity sound until the end of the year — and several others, allows you to listen to music free of charge with some restrictions.
With the Prime plan, users have access to a selection of two million sounds, free of charge for Amazon Prime subscribers. With the Unlimited package, users have full access — for R$17 per month. For those who like to listen to music only on Echo Dot and Show, there is the Echo plan, which for R$7 per month gives access to the entire library, but with this device restriction. Amazon Music HD, with Hi-Fi music, is currently out.
