Today, OnePlus held an official event in a live broadcast on the brand's main networks to launch its OnePlus 9 line of phones (in addition to 9R), but with smartphones, too was released the OnePlus Watch, a long-awaited accessory by fans of the brand. The OnePlus Watch comes in two models. The classic version is made of stainless steel and has a fluoroelastomer strap, which is a type of fluorocarbon rubber. While the Cobalt version, as its name suggests, is made of a cobalt alloy, with a protective sapphire crystal film, which guarantees scratch resistance, and has a vegan leather strap.
The smartwatch's screen is circular and made of AMOLED, measuring 1,39 inches with a density of 326 pixels per inch. All of this is protected by a layer of 2,5D glass. It comes with 4 GB of internal storage, with 2 GB dedicated to storing music locally, and with the STM32 processor.
The OnePlus Watch will connect to your phone via the OnePlus Health app and can play music on its own or paired with Bluetooth headphones. In addition, it will have 50 watchfaces for the user to change and customize their accessory.
Own operating system, OnePlus snubs Wear OS
No, the OnePlus smartwatch really will not come with Wear OS from Google, as, in fact, the rumors point to since last year. Instead of Google's operating system, the device will run the RTOS (real-time operating system) developed by the brand itself. This means that the accessory will not have integration with Google Maps or Google Pay, or other services that work with Android.
However, this does not exclude the features that the smartwatch will have. It will be compatible with over 110 exercises, some of which are automatically detected when you start swimming. It will also have IP68 and 5ATM resistance to water and sand, allowing you to swim with the device on your wrist.
The OnePlus Watch will be able to measure sleep quality, heart rate, blood oxygenation and steps taken. All of this is monitored by the OnePlus Health app.

Among the confirmed specifications of the OnePlus Watch, some stand out. First is its connectivity with the brand's smart TVs. Thus, it will be possible to turn the television on or off, in addition to controlling the volume with the smartwatch. It will also have a function that, if the user falls asleep with the watch on their wrist while watching TV, the OnePlus Watch will turn off the television after 30 minutes of snooze.
The watch's battery also caught our attention. It has 402 mAh and lasts for 2 weeks of use on just one charge. When recharging, the accessory uses a fast wireless system that, in just 20 minutes, guarantees a week of battery life.
Launch
The OnePlus Watch was launched today in India, but will be available in the US market starting April 14. The European launch date has not yet been set, but the price is in the range of 159 euros, which is approximately R$ 1032 (without taxes or fees).
