Raymond Z. explained why OnePlus' first smartwatch doesn't use the WearOS operating system. Google created specifically for smartwatches and other wearables.
Reason is battery life
Starting his explanation with a brief introduction about the tests he and his team have done with several watches, Raymond stated that the RTOS provides better battery life for the device. The OnePlus Watch, according to the manager, is aimed at daily use, with minimal charging time, and WearOS would not be the ideal operating system.

Five minutes of charging allows the watch to last a whole day and twenty minutes of charging allows it to last for a week.

Smooth screen, chip combination and other details
Citing the smoothness of the OnePlus 7 Pro's display, the executive stated that the smartwatch has imported the smartphone's frame display debugging experience. Raymond also said he was pleased with the compliments about the device's design, stating that the inspiration came from traditional watches that had the essential functions of a smartwatch. The manager went further in his answers, where he also spoke about the combination of three chips in his product. The ST, responsible for the interactive user interface and the screen, the Apollo 3, low-power and which allows the watch to stay online for long periods, and the Cypress, focused on communication and responsible for the Bluetooth calling functions.
In the information, Raymond stated that the OnePlus Watch supports calling features, has a built-in microphone and speaker. In addition, the watch needs the speaker to vibrate to remove water after immersion. There is a predefined list function for replying to messages and the watch has 4 GB of internal storage, with 2 GB of that dedicated to music.
