A new update for Office for Android brings dark mode to Microsoft's three-in-one suite of tools. The feature, which has been available for some time on the desktop version, is now coming to the mobile platform, matching most of the user interfaces released for the company.
No official Microsoft announcement, The company explains that the app's night mode will come with three configuration options: light theme, dark theme, and system default, which follows Android's native settings. Once applied, night mode darkens most areas of the app's interface, with the exception of pages and some fonts.
To apply the feature, simply click on your user icon, go to Settings and select one of the three options in the Themes section. The company warns that the update will occur on parallel servers, so the feature should reach all users in the coming weeks.

Dark theme is the new black
Considered one of the most useful tools productivity, it's interesting to note how long it took for dark mode to arrive on Office for Android. From app customization to Windows 10, Microsoft has been betting on the dark theme as the default for most of its interfaces. Android has also made the option generally available since version 10 of its system, and for version 12, it is preparing a version even darker.
In any case, Microsoft is currently collecting user feedback on the new Office view mode, so it's possible that the feature will receive some tweaks in the coming days. Those interested in providing suggestions for the layout (such as whether it could be dark like Twitter's) can click on the profile icon in the main tab of the application, and choose the "Send Feedback" option.
