A Apple reached its highest value in history after its shares rose 1,80% on the Stock Exchange New York (the largest in the Dow Jones index) this Wednesday (07/07) and closed at US$ 144,57. Now, the company founded by Steve Jobs is worth US$ 2,4 trillion (which would be around R$ 12,7 trillion, just to give you an idea of what that means in our currency today) and is the biggest company from all over the planet.

It is worth remembering that, after five years away from the top spot on this podium, Apple had resumed the post in January of this year, after seeing the increase the value of your brand by 87% in 2020. In August 2018, the Apple became the first publicly traded company to reach a $1 trillion valuation. Just over a year later, Apple doubled that mark, being valued at US$ 2 trillion. In addition to the Apple, the only other US company worth more than $2 trillion today is old rival Microsoft. Amazon, Alphabet (Google) And Facebook surpassed US$1 trillion in 2018, 2020 and 2021, but have not reached US$2 trillion yet.

In a current ranking of the top 10 most valuable companies in the world, seven are American, with only one other slightly further away from the technology sector, Berkshire Hathaway (company that owns a wide range of businesses, including railroads, candy production, jewelry sales, newspapers, uniform manufacturing, and even gas and electric utilities).

Trend of Apple is to keep growing

The role of Apple accumulated seven consecutive days of appreciation, the company's longest streak, rising more than 8% in the period and more than 13% in the last month. The closing price of shares of Apple this record now surpassed the previous high set in January 2021. Still, it is slightly below the intraday record of $145,09, which was also set in January. Shares of Apple have risen about 9% this year, lagging behind other technology companies. The S&P 500 index, of which Apple is the biggest contributor, earned 16%.

The new record comes amid optimism about the company's growth prospects. Apple and expectations that iPhone sales could continue to rise over the next six months. In May, analyst Katy Huberty predicted that Apple could record a better-than-expected June quarter. The period is typically the slowest in the Apple, but Huberty believes the company can beat Wall Street's expectations. Apple will report its fiscal third-quarter earnings on July 27.

According to experts, a lot of money is being invested in the technology sector. Gary Kaltbaum, a consultant who is often invited to weigh in on financial markets on Fox News, says that the big value flows “are now going to Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft and others” and that it should continue that way “at least in earnings that are about three weeks away”.

Reasons for success

Some analysts also say that in addition to success with other products and services, Apple is at the beginning of a supercycle of iPhone, with many active users ready to upgrade to a new model. In the coming years, as 5G connectivity expands and gets better, many iPhone users will want to have the fastest model they can afford.
