Netflix launches button that shows random titles, but only for some
Over the past few months, Netflix has been testing a feature that allows you to play movies, series and other programs randomly. The tool has been given several names throughout the testing period and may have even appeared on your TV. Today, Netflix announced on its official website and Twitter The feature is being launched worldwide and it's called Random Titles, but not all devices have received the new feature yet. For those who are already updating their Android or iOS apps to find this function, there's bad news. Netflix said it will launch the feature for mobile devices and also for the browser, but unfortunately only at a later date.

The feature was designed for those people who spend hours trying to choose something to watch on the streaming platform. When selecting random titles, the app will start playing some of its products in a not-so-random way. The algorithm will look for a title that is aligned with what the user usually watches, or it can start something that the person started watching previously and ended up dropping or a title forgotten in the “my list” section. Netflix made available a video (in English and with subtitles) demonstrating it.

Accessing the shuffle button on Netflix is easy. It appears in three different places: below your user profile, in the left-hand menu, or in the tenth row on your home page. If you are a screen reader user, the feature is compatible with text-to-speech (TTS) converters; to set it up, just go to the Accessibility section of your app.
Some users may think that this is nothing new, after all, the company has been testing this tool since last year and, as a result, some lucky people may have already noticed that the random titles were already present on their TVs or set-top boxes. In any case, the official global launch of the tool was today, but as we mentioned, it is only available on smart TV apps. In addition, the distribution of the feature has not yet reached all homes, so if it has not appeared on your TV yet, it may only be a matter of time until the app is updated.
