Mi Smart Band 6 arrives in Brazil with a large screen and a “personal trainer” on your wrist
The Mi Smart Band 6, the new generation of Xiaomi's smart bracelet, has arrived in Brazil and is on sale in physical stores and on the manufacturer's official website, in six color options (black, blue, orange, yellow, olive and ivory). The company announced the wearable with many new features and a price, at first interesting if the features presented deliver what they promise: R$699,99.
According to Xiaomi, anyone who buys the Mi Smart Band 6 in Brazil will take home a true “personal trainer” on their wrist. Whether exaggerated or not, the claim is based on the many functions included in the smart bracelet and aimed at those looking for an accessory for physical exercise and taking care of their health.
According to Thiago Araripe, marketing manager at Xiaomi Brazil, the launch of the Mi Smart Band 6 in the country will help those seeking “a healthier and more efficient life, at a time when clinical care is essential”. To take the slogan seriously, the manufacturer prepared the bracelet with 30 exercise monitoring options and 19 new physical activity modes, including boxing, basketball and even Zumba. Among the functions linked to training are control of calories burned, heart rate monitoring and, as a new feature, the measurement of blood oxygen saturation (SpO2).
The smart bracelet also has features that were already present in its predecessor, such as monitoring sleep and breathing while the user sleeps and tracking stress levels. A new feature aimed specifically at women is menstrual cycle tracking, something that some rival brands had already adopted in their recent releases.
The design of the Mi Smart Band 6, which is already on sale in Brazil, has also changed. Xiaomi's smart bracelet has a 1,56-inch AMOLED screen, 50% larger than its predecessor, and has more than 60 dial options, static or dynamic, which can be customized according to the user's preference. The screen resolution is 152 x 486 pixels.
By pairing the smart bracelet with the cell phone, the user will have access to functions such as pausing, fast-forwarding or rewinding songs, increasing and decreasing the volume and activating the smartphone's camera. The function of replying to text messages, for now, remains exclusive to users in China. Regarding the battery, the promise is that it will last up to 14 days with a single charge, which continues to be carried out magnetically, that is, without the need to remove the strap from the bracelet when connected to the charger.
