January 11, 2021

2021 has barely started, but it seems like the Apple There are already new releases for this year, and some rumors about the design of a supposed iPhone 13 have started to circulate. The rumors about the iPhone 13 are quite varied, and range from the 120Hz refresh rate, to the continuation of LiDAR optical detection technology.

Speaking of continuity, the Japanese leaker Macotakara now reported that the iPhone 13 will have, in relation to the 12, only a discreet update in its design, and will feature a smaller notch. The blog also stated that Apple has already started developing the devices, but it is not yet possible to confirm the information.

In a winning team…

According to the leak, the Apple will launch 4 models of the iPhone 13, which will have the same design as the iPhone 12, including the same height and weight, but there will be some changes. Apparently, the iPhone 13 will be 0.26mm thicker than the iPhone 12. So, no radical changes so far.

Furthermore, regarding the device's notch, the leak also reported that the receiver at the top of the display has changed to reduce the size of the TrueDepth camera system and that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will have the same size rear camera. However, in the case of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, things were different, as the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a single lens that offers 2.5x more optical zoom and an ultra-wide sensor, which offers lens-shift stabilization.

The rear camera will still have a 0.09mm increase on all iPhone 13 models, but the Apple will use a new design for the camera module, which will be entirely covered in sapphire glass. The leak stated that the arrival of the iPhone 13 will only take place in September, but it remains to be seen whether the pandemic will bring new delays in launches, as happened with the iPhone 12.
