During Nintendo's Indie World Showcase event, which took place today (14/04) through a conference, several games were announced for consoles, PCs and mobile. One of the novelties is the new game Hindsight from developer Joel McDonald (creator of the game Prune) and publisher Annapurna Interactive, which will be released for users of iOS in 2021.
As the name suggests, Hindsight is a puzzle game that revolves around the life story of a woman, from when she was a child to her adulthood (present). In website, the publisher presents the game as follows: “Step inside and explore memories from long ago. Relive moments frozen in time… What if the physical objects of everyday life, the possessions we hold close to us, were true windows to the past? Examine distant memories and unseen futures in retrospect.” Check out the trailer posted today on Annapurna’s YouTube channel, which shows some images from the game.
As for the gameplay, not many details have been revealed yet, but the creators say that players will have to pay attention to the small details of the game to find the right ways to search for the character's memories in the past. In this way, the girl will go to the past and return to the present at any time during the game's story.
In addition to iOS, Hindsight will be released for Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam), with no release date confirmed by Annapurna for now, but this release is expected to happen soon. The game will be available in 10 languages, including Portuguese. Check out the new game Northgard has also arrived for iOS users.
